Orfi (Ozan İyidoğan) is an Istanbul-based composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. A graduate of ITU State Conservatory, he began his musical journey at a young age with the bağlama, clarinet, and saxophone—deeply immersing himself in the rich modal traditions of Turkish classical and folk music. Drawing on this strong foundation, he developed his own unique sound by blending these ancient modes with the language of modern electronic music.
His work places strong emphasis on mystical themes, mythological narratives, and ritualistic depth. For Orfi, music is not merely something to be listened to—it is something to be experienced. Each track is a personal journey, a process of transformation, and a form of spiritual exploration. His approach turns music into a kind of mental and emotional landscape, where inner exploration meets sonic experimentation.
Producing under the name Orfi, he merges the tonal qualities of Eastern modes with modern production techniques. Makams like Nikriz, Saba, and Hüzam are reborn in his work through analog synthesizers, deep basslines, and intricate rhythmic structures. Releases like “Gnosis” (2024), followed by “Qalandar” and “Dionysos”, showcase this vision. These tracks are not just musical compositions; they are multi-layered works containing philosophical, cultural, and intuitive elements.
Orfi continues his active musical career through live performances, concerts, and studio productions. Masterfully blending traditional instruments with digital sound design, he sees music as a ritual, and the stage as a sacred space. In his art, every note carries meaning, every transition is a threshold, and every rhythm becomes a call to awaken.
